I had a very disappointing experience with this clinic’s customer service. After booking an appointment, I was given a date four weeks later. Unfortunately, I began experiencing heavy bleeding and called the office to explain my situation and ask if I could be notified of any cancellations due to the urgency. The staff member I spoke with (Tammy) was extremely rude and did not allow me to finish explaining my condition. She raised her voice and stated that they have many patients and no earlier appointments were available, suggesting I reschedule even later. This interaction made me feel dismissed and uncared for during a serious health concern. While I understand clinics are busy, patients deserve to be treated with respect and empathy—especially in urgent situations. Ironically, I received a call the next day saying an earlier appointment had become available. However, due to how I was treated, I no longer felt comfortable trusting this clinic with my care. For as long as I can remember, I have struggled with incredibly painful and overwhelming menstrual cycles. Since my teenage years, I sought help from multiple OB-GYNs, but time and time again, the solution was simply another prescription for birth control. No one truly looked deeper or tried to understand what my body was going through. From my very first appointment with Dr. West, everything changed. She took the time to truly listen and, instead of brushing off my concerns, she ordered blood work to better understand what was happening inside my body. At my second appointment, she carefully reviewed my results and discovered that I was severely anemic and that my blood count was dangerously low. She didn’t stop there. She asked thoughtful questions about my family history, and when I didn’t have all the answers, she encouraged me to reach out to someone who might. Dr. West then spent over an hour speaking directly with my grandmother to gain a clearer picture of my family history — something no doctor had ever taken the time to do before. She also ordered both an ultrasound and an MRI to truly see what was going on. For the first time in 15 years, I felt heard, validated, and cared for. That thorough approach led to the diagnosis of an enormous fibroid, which finally explained why my cycles had been so unbearable. The fibroid wasn’t just physically uncomfortable — it was making my life a living hell. I was constantly bleeding, constantly in pain, and perpetually exhausted, as if it were literally draining the life out of me. Dr. West recommended surgery, and now, just two weeks post-op, I already feel like a completely new person. Given the size of the fibroid, I had accepted that I would likely be left with a large scar. Instead, Dr. West left me with a very small incision and has continued to closely monitor my recovery every step of the way. I am beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and dedication Dr. West showed me. She gave me answers, relief, and hope after years of feeling dismissed.
