Subdermal Birth Control Implant (Nexplanon) – Insertion & Removal

Looking for a low-maintenance birth control option that lasts up to 3 years? The subdermal contraceptive implant, commonly known by the brand name Nexplanon, is a small, flexible rod inserted just beneath the skin of your upper arm. It steadily releases a hormone (etonogestrel) that prevents pregnancy and offers one of the most reliable forms of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC).

This in-office procedure is quick and performed under local anesthesia. The implant can be inserted or removed in just minutes during a routine visit. It’s ideal for patients seeking a “set it and forget it” method that doesn’t require daily pills or monthly maintenance. When you’re ready to stop or switch methods, the device can be easily removed with immediate return of fertility.

Whether you're exploring Nexplanon insertion, need a removal, or simply want to understand your options, we’re here to guide you through personalized birth control counseling and care.

IUD Insertion & Removal – Hormonal and Non-Hormonal Birth Control Options

Considering a birth control method that’s safe, effective, and long-lasting? The intrauterine device (IUD) is a small T-shaped device placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy for up to 10 years, depending on the type. We offer both hormonal IUDs (like Mirena or Kyleena) and non-hormonal copper IUDs (like Paragard).

IUD placement is performed in-office and typically takes just a few minutes. Most patients feel mild cramping during insertion, with minimal downtime afterward. When you’re ready to remove it—whether due to symptoms, side effects, or a desire to become pregnant—we’ll guide you through a simple IUD removal process.

IUDs are one of the most popular long-acting reversible contraceptives due to their high effectiveness, low maintenance, and ability to restore fertility quickly after removal.

Endometrial Biopsy (EMB) – Evaluation for Irregular or Abnormal Bleeding

An endometrial biopsy is a diagnostic in-office procedure used to collect a small sample of the uterine lining (endometrium). It’s commonly recommended for patients experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding, postmenopausal spotting, or symptoms suggestive of endometrial hyperplasia or cancer.

The procedure is quick and performed without general anesthesia. Most patients experience mild cramping during the biopsy and can return to regular activities the same day.

This test helps us investigate causes of irregular bleeding, detect hormonal imbalances, and screen for conditions like uterine polyps or cancer. If you’ve been advised to undergo an EMB, we’ll walk you through the process, what to expect, and how results can guide the next steps in your care.

Hysteroscopy – In-Office or Surgical Evaluation of the Uterus

A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows us to view the inside of your uterus using a thin, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope. It’s used to diagnose and treat common gynecologic conditions such as uterine fibroids, polyps, abnormal bleeding, or fertility concerns.

This procedure can be done in a hospital setting or sometimes in-office, depending on your needs. No incisions are made—everything is done through the cervix. Many patients benefit from a hysteroscopy as a first-line evaluation tool before undergoing more invasive surgeries.

We use this technology to visualize, diagnose, and sometimes treat uterine issues during a single procedure—leading to faster recovery and more accurate results.

Hysterectomy for Fibroids, Endometriosis & Chronic Pelvic Pain – Open & Robotic Options Available

If you're struggling with ongoing gynecologic issues like uterine fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, or abnormal uterine bleeding, a hysterectomy may offer long-term relief when other treatments haven’t worked. A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the uterus and sometimes the ovaries and fallopian tubes. At our practice, we offer both traditional open hysterectomy and minimally invasive robotic-assisted hysterectomy using the advanced DaVinci Surgical System.

This gynecologic surgery is performed in a hospital setting and tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Robotic-assisted hysterectomy often results in smaller incisions, shorter recovery times, and reduced postoperative discomfort compared to open surgery. We’ll guide you through the decision-making process to determine which approach is safest and most effective for your situation.

Many patients choose a hysterectomy after trying medications, hormone therapy, or less invasive procedures without sufficient improvement. Whether you're seeking relief from debilitating fibroid symptoms or managing a more serious diagnosis,  we are here to support you with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Our goal is to help you feel empowered and informed every step of the way—from initial consultation to full recovery. If you're exploring hysterectomy options near you, schedule a personalized consultation to see if this procedure aligns with your health goals.

Myomectomy – Uterine Fibroid Removal While Preserving Fertility

If you’ve been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and want to preserve your uterus, a myomectomy may be the ideal surgical option. Unlike a hysterectomy, a myomectomy focuses solely on removing fibroids while leaving the uterus intact—making it a preferred choice for patients who wish to maintain their fertility or avoid more permanent procedures.

Myomectomies can be performed through various techniques depending on the size, number, and location of your fibroids. These include laparoscopic myomectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy (for fibroids inside the uterine cavity), and abdominal (open) myomectomy. The goal is to relieve symptoms such as heavy periods, pelvic pressure, bloating, or infertility while preserving reproductive potential.

We’ll evaluate your condition using imaging like ultrasound or MRI and determine the best surgical approach based on your goals and anatomy. Whether you’re planning a future pregnancy or simply want relief from persistent symptoms, we’re here to offer expert care using the latest minimally invasive gynecologic surgery techniques whenever possible.

Our team provides personalized guidance and thorough pre- and post-operative support to ensure you feel confident and cared for throughout your journey.

Laparoscopic Surgery – Minimally Invasive Treatment for Pelvic Conditions

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to diagnose and treat conditions like endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic adhesions, and unexplained infertility. Through 2–3 small incisions in the abdomen, we insert a camera and precision tools to visualize and treat pelvic organs with less trauma than open surgery.

This outpatient procedure typically allows for shorter recovery, reduced pain, and lower risk of complications. Laparoscopy can be used to remove cysts, treat blocked fallopian tubes, or even perform complex procedures like a myomectomy.

If you’ve been told you may need pelvic surgery, laparoscopy may offer an effective, less invasive solution.
